Singapore Clay Festival
Preparing for the Singapore Clay Festival 2025
After the festive break, Im back in action.. There’s a certain energy in the studio now — the kind that comes when creativity meets a deadline. Clay dust on the tables, glaze tests lined up on shelves, and boxes of freshly fired pieces waiting to be packed. The hum of activity only means one thing: Singapore Clay Festival 2025 is around the corner!
From 6–9 November, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre will transform into a space filled with clay, creativity, and connection. The Singapore Clay Festival brings together artists, studios, and enthusiasts from across the region — a celebration of ceramic art in all its forms, from delicate functional ware to expressive sculptural pieces. It’s an event that truly showcases the diversity of Singapore’s vibrant ceramics community, and I’m so happy to be part of it again this year with Klay Kathaa Ceramics.
Behind the Scenes — My Studio in Preparation Mode
Preparing for the festival is as much about planning as it is about making. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been spending long hours in the studio — experimenting with glazes, refining forms, and curating collections that reflect both craftsmanship and warmth.
This season, my focus has been on creating pieces that feel thoughtful and festive — the kind of handmade gifts that carry emotion and intention. Alongside the making, I’ve been putting just as much care into packaging — using natural textures, muted tones, and small details that make unwrapping a piece feel like opening a story.
What You’ll Find at the Klay Kathaa Table
At my table this year, you’ll find a collection that celebrates both playfulness and form — a mix of small treasures and statement pieces, each made by hand with intention.
🐘 Mini Elephants & Horses — Hand-sculpted collectibles full of character, including a few new glaze variations introduced specially for the festival.
📚 Limited Edition “Bookshelf” Sculptures — Intricate wall-mounted compositions made from miniature wheel-thrown pots, each arranged like a poetic study in balance and form. These pieces are deeply personal explorations of form, perspective and the stories objects hold.
💍 Small Jewellery Collection — A delicate range of handcrafted ceramic pendants and earrings — subtle, textural pieces that bring clay into the everyday.
🎄 Festive Gifting Ideas (from $20) — Perfect for thoughtful giving:
• Tiny bird pendants and figurines
• Clay diffusers with soft, natural scents
• Unique functional ware — cups, bowls, and plates in my signature glazes
🎁 Exclusive Festival Offers — For anyone eager to try their hand at pottery, there will be special discounts on workshops, regular class sign-ups, and studio time rentals during the event.

Why I Love Being Part of This Festival
The Singapore Clay Festival isn’t just an exhibition — it’s a gathering of people who share a love for clay. It’s where conversations flow over textures and glazes, where you meet fellow artists you’ve admired from afar, and where visitors get to experience the beauty and imperfections that make handmade pieces so human.
For me, it’s also a reminder of why I do what I do — to create pieces that carry warmth, evoke emotion, and find a place in someone’s story.
As the festival approaches, the studio is still in full swing — a few more firings to go, some final touches on packaging, and booth planning to complete. But the anticipation makes it all worthwhile.
If you’re in Singapore between 6–9 November, do stop by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and visit the Klay Kathaa Ceramics table (see infographics for table direction). Come say hello, browse through the collection, and maybe find something handmade to gift — or to keep.
See you at the Singapore Clay Festival — a celebration of all things handmade, heartfelt, and born from clay.
